Students will explore a Web map showing language hotspots; areas where languages are at risk of disappearing and discover the factors involved in language loss. They will have an opportunity to modify their maps to include dominant language information and answer questions that will help them understand the importance of language. At the end of this lesson, students can choose to compile a report and presentation on a regional hotspot of their choice.
