We never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.
To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, no part of our website is specifically structured to attract anyone under 13. If we have knowledge that any of our users are under the age of 13, their parent or teacher's email address is required so they can give verified consent for collection personal information, review their child's information or request deletion of the account.
You can access all your personally identifiable information that we collect online and maintain through the My Profile tab, once you have logged in on the Spongelab Site. We use this procedure to better safeguard your information.
You can correct factual errors in your personally identifiable information by sending us a request that credibly shows error. To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.
If you would like your account deleted, or if you are parent or teacher who would like to delete the account of your child (under the age of 13), please click here (link to button). Once you request an account deletion, the action cannot be reversed. We will remove all of your information from our servers immediately and irrevocably. If you are a student using Spongelab for educational purposes, make sure you verify with your teacher that you will no longer be needing your account for class work.
Should you have any questions or concerns about these privacy policies, please send us an email or call us at 416-703-9753
